LOOK WHO HAS A FAMILY:

DRAKE has found a family!!! THAT FAMILY IS US!!
I will forever be jealous of the lucky family that gets to bring Drake home.  He is so happy and full of life!  He is smiling and laughing in all of his videos.  He can push himself in a wheelchair and is learning to feed himself. I am so confident that with a family he could lead a very normal full life! I almost don't want to advocate for him because I want to go get him.  Since I have to wait on God to say ok, I want someone to see him for the amazing little man he is and commit to love and care for him forever!  ARE YOU THE LUCKY PARENT TO DRAKE?

Drake #6-10

Drake2013DOB: 2008
Diagnosis: Freeman-Sholden Syndrome (a form of arthrogryposis)
Drake has made significant improvements in the past year. His physical strength has greatly improved. He’s now sitting up independently, pulling up onto his knees in the bed and is working hard to learn to get himself to a complete stand position. When placed against support, he can stand and hold on to something. He can get around independently in a walker and wheelchair. He is working with a physical therapist and learning to crawl. He drinks from a cup independently and eats from a spoon. He plays appropriately with toys and will mimic any action that he’s shown. He still prefers to use his left hand, but he is beginning to manipulate objects with his right hand as well. He enjoys playing board games with other children. He differentiates between familiar adults and strangers. He responds appropriately to praise and to correction. He repeats words that are said to him and is beginning to spontaneously talk. He understands what is said to him and follows verbal directions.
The agency has several photos and videos from January 2013. In the videos, Drake is walking in a gait trainer, standing up at a PT bar, following verbal directions and interacting with staff. Drake is in a very nice orphanage that has many resources. The orphanage’s location allows for easy travel for adoptive parents and also allows for the adoption trips to be shortened.

I've been praying and praying for little Kramer's family to see him and find him.  I am reminded that I can do nothing better for any of these little ones than to pray for them.  God has a perfect plan and that includes Kramer.  THATS right - Kramer's family committed to him today!

Kramer #11-31

DOB: 2004
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy
Kramer has lived his entire life in an orphanage where he has received very little medical care, therapy, interventions or attention. As a result, he’s significantly delayed in all aspects of his development. He is extremely small for his age, weighing just 25 pounds at 8 years old. In June 2012, he was hospitalized for evaluation and orthopedic medical intervention. A tenotomy was performed in the pelvic area to assist in his ability to better use his legs.
Kramer needs a family willing to provide the physical therapy and other medical/developmental care that he needs in order to reach his full potential. He’s never been given the opportunity to learn or do anything other than lie in a crib all day.
Additional photos of Kramer are available.

After much fighting and yelling and praying and sharing - Chad's family has found him!! At long last, someone has stepped up and said that despite his needs he IS valuable!  He is Their son and they are coming for him!

Chad #11-30

 DOB: 2003
Diagnosis: delays in all aspects of development
Chad has lived his entire life in an orphanage where he has received very little medical care, therapy, education or intervention to help him to learn and grow. He’s very small for his age and delayed in all aspects of his development. In June 2012, he tested positive for TB and has been taking medication to treat it.
Additional photos and a video are available.

THIS IS AUGUSTIN.... Oh my goodness!! Are you seeing what I am seeing?   That's right an absolutely adorable little life without a mama and daddy.  Can you even imagine being the lucky one to call him your son?  Love this little life the second I saw him, he needs a family quickly.  PLEASE PRAY PRAY PRAY for him to find a family and for them to get to him quickly!

Boy, born February 2011
CP, quadriplegia, microcephaly, cerebral cachexia, seizure disorder

Sweet Augustin has a host of medical issues, but hopefully someone will see past those terms to the boy he is, and the boy he can be!   He needs a mama!

!

How do I only appeal to people for one or two little souls when there are so many in the world aching, not just physically but emotionally for someone to put their arms around them and tell them they are special.  Please someone look at Sergey and tell him how much God loves him!  Tell him that He has not left him or forsook him.

Sergey

Boy, Born October 15, 2007
This little monkey has a whole host of medical complications, but he is so darling and will surely perish if he is not adopted.  He will end up in an institution, bedridden for his very short life.  :(   Please consider Sergey!
From his medical records:  secondary post-hemorrhagic obstructive internal hydrocephalus, spastic tetraparesis, convulsive disorder, mental disorder as a result of organic affection of brain, additional chord of the left heart ventricle, partial optic atrophy, congenital nystagmus, crossed eyes, delay of physical development
Regrettably, this orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope.    All of the children are tiny and undernourished.  These children are immediately transferred at 4.  All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need.  Please consider one of these children soon!!

Janna is almost 8 years old!  8 years laying in a crib without a family.   UGgg, I can NOT even begin to imagine her life, and yet she smiles!  How is that even possible?  Will you be her family, will you be the one to make a difference to her life forever?

Janna

Girl, born January 2005
Look at Janna’s long lovely fingers!
Janna has a congential anomaly of the brain.  Both pictures we have of her she is lying down — she desperately needs a family to rescue her.   Once she is transferred, she will likely be left in bed for the rest of her days.
There are many children in this orphanage who could be adopted together.
FACING IMMINENT TRANSFER!
From a family who met her in 2012:
I did not see her moving much but she would arch her back occasionally and make a few noises.  She desperately wanted to move though.  Desperately!  She was the only child I ever saw that was given toys (I would suspect it was because the other kids would likely throw them out of the crib but Janna would keep them in the crib and play with them).  The fact that she would play purposefully with toys speaks volumes about her cognitive ability.  She would dangle the toys over her face and wiggle them around.  She could move all of her limbs but did not seem to have enough strength to sit up on her own (although she almost did it).  I do not know if she can roll herself over but when she did move she seemed to have more trunk and upper body strength then I expected.  She was given one opportunity to sit up and be on her tummy and SHE LOVED IT!  She reached for toys and enjoyed looking at herself in the mirror.
If I had to guess (and again it’s just a guess) I would guess that she has hydrocephalus and seizures.  If that is true, I believe the care takers are hesitant to touch or move her.  They may not understand hydrocephalus and seizures and are afraid to trigger one.
What touched me the most was every time I would rub her head or hands she looked at me like it was the most soothing thing that had ever happened to her – I will never forget that look.   It was as if years of horrible memories were released and she soaked up the gentle attention.
My heart is absolutely broken for her… Janna is 7 years old and is living at the orphanage on borrowed time.  It is believed that she will be transferred to a mental institution in September 2012.  However if a family commits to adopt her the orphanage director may keep her at the orphanage until they come.  I cannot even bring myself to think of her life in a mental institution, she is far too sweet and too gentle to deal with what she would experience.  Please…someone…rescue Janna

UPDATE:::

Little miss Zoey's family found her, they traveled to meet her and spent a week loving her.  She went home to be home with Jesus shortly after, but what a great gift to have received that love and now she is forever being loved by the heavenly Father!

Zoey #40-9

DOB: 2006
Diagnosis: Congenital anomaly of the broncho-pulmonary system; Infantile cerebral palsy – spastic quadric paresis; severe malnutrition
Zoey is almost 6 years old and weighs less than 10 pounds. She is currently fed through a feeding tube, though it is obvious that she is not receiving the nutrition that she needs.
We have very little information on Zoey at this time, though we are working to get more detailed medical information. The current information indicates that she moves her upper extremities and that she smiles and responds positively while being fed and when caregivers interact with her, change her, bathe her or talk to her.

Jacob was renamed Timothy.  I have had the very great privilege of becoming friends with his forever family.  He spent time at home with his family being held and cuddled and doted on.  His mom used to take him to her pottery shed where he would sit on her lap and play with the clay.  The joy and light in his life was apparent and I loved being able to watch his growth and improvement.  He went to be with Jesus and is no longer hindered by physical restrictions.

I wondered and inquired about Jacob more than once, wanting to know WHY DOESN'T HE HAVE A FAMILY?!  Well, guess what?!  HE HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE "MY FAMILY FOUND ME" page on Reece's Rainbow!  I am ecstatic.  Join me in praising God that there will be one less orphan soon.
(Also, if you want to know why Jacob is so near and dear to me read my post "God used Jacob to lead our family")

Jacob

Boy, born January 2011
Spastic cerebral palsy, cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder)
This little guy is still pretty young, a great age to join a family and receive therapy as needed!    He needs a mama to scoop him up.
Large families welcome, travel required.

From someone who met him in spring 2012:   Jacob is a precious little guy. He is turning 2 in January but is still very much like a baby. I don’t know exactly how limited he is physically or cognitively [because I only interacted with him while he was laying in a stroller] but his muscles didn’t look tight and he had chub on his arms and legs. He seems to understand what is going on around him and would turn his head and smile when you called his name. When given any bit of attention he would just smile and smile. I fell in love with his smile and wanted to pick him up and run. He is currently in a good orphanage but really needs to get into a family and some therapy. He would thrive with some love and attention but will just keep missing milestones if left in the orphanage. He will be transferred at age 4 if not adopted.
